Cataract Surgery at SamVision
Understand cataracts, lens replacement and the consultation steps for cataract surgery at SamVision.
Overview
A cataract is clouding of the eye's natural lens. It can make vision blurred and increase difficulty with glare. An eye examination helps establish whether a cataract is contributing to your symptoms.
Assessment and care options
SamVision's existing surgical service information includes phacoemulsification and extracapsular cataract extraction. Cataract surgery removes the cloudy lens and replaces it with an intraocular lens. Your ophthalmologist will explain which approach, lens option and follow-up plan are appropriate after assessment.
Your consultation
The consultation considers your symptoms, eye examination and general medical history. Bring your current glasses and relevant eye-care reports. The clinician will discuss benefits, risks and any further tests before a procedure is arranged.
Relevant specialists
Dr. Fitsum Bekele Gulilat — Chief Expert Ophthalmologist. Dr. Meryem — Ophthalmologist, Bisrate Gebriel Branch. Both provide cataract care. Contact the clinic to confirm the appropriate consultation and clinician availability.
Follow-up
Follow-up checks are planned by the treating clinician. Use prescribed medicines and attend review appointments as instructed; recovery and visual outcome vary between patients.
